The title of this site comes from an old saying:
"There's nowt queerer than folk, other than me and thee, and even thee's suspect"
...at least, that how I heard it (from a friend originally from Yorkshire). In any case, being a bit of a &queer folk& myself, I thought it a good idea to examine just what all the fuss is about.
Namely, I know (after a lot of soul searching) that I'm not a monster (see ), just another human being, just like you. Trouble is, there are lots of people who choose to ignore this, either by design or accident. Part of this is ignorance, and that's the part that this website is meant to cure.
I talk about me, I talk about how I'm different, and what I did (or didn't do) about it. I also present different stories, ideas and links to other resources. Sections like Disability , and Sexuality are like this. Sections like Transcendence and Poetry and Prose however, are more literary based, coming from what people needed to write about in their lives.
Later, I found I had issues that had to be raised, related to ideas and arenas related to identity and discourse. That's where sections like QC Shame and Tiresias Factor come from.
In any case, this is my effort -- I hope it helps.
