In 1991, a engineering company in Carrington built two full-scale (but non-functional) replicas of the Challenger and Endeavor Space Shuttles, with the full support of NASA. Unfortunately, the company went broke when the business deal involved went sour.

My take on Kirk McKusick's BSD daemon, as rendered by Andrew Murphy-Mee, a professional animator friend of mine. It can be openly displayed, modified, and distributed for any purpose in a public-licence kind of way (that is, without preventing anyone else from using the idea). A high resolution scan of Andrew's finished pencilwork is available on request. For any North Americans reading this, Australian possums are rather different from that they would be familar with. Brushtails are better known for living in your roof than becoming roadkill.
