  3. PREVIOUS MINUTES
  4. Minutes of meeting held on February 10, 2008

Helen moved that the minutes be accepted.
    Seconded by Ross.

  5. BUSINESS ARISING FROM MINUTES
  6. As of April 27 2008, there are seven members of Hunter APANA using the ECN dialups.

We were able to disconnect one line, leaving two dialin lines and one backup line. It has been decided that we can afford to keep two dialin lines at the most; while we could go down to one dialin line as members rarely connect for an extended amount of time. The matter of ECN dialups is to be kept on record for the next meeting.

The motion to cancel line 7301 was unanimous.

No progress has been made on the server consolidation as proposed on the meeting held on December 15. Otherwise, there was no business arising from the minutes.

    Moved by Chris.
    Seconded by Ross.

  7. BUSINESS ARISING FROM REPORTS
  8. Hunter has lost one APANA-only member, and gained one paying member. There are no problems in this regard.

The predicted balance is $1708 - a loss of $29. However, Hunter APANA may still finish the year with a $105 surplus. With the Internode rebates not taken into account, a deficit of $129 is predicted for next year. Hunter's monthly allowance is $2.

No expenditure was made, and no network repairs were necessary. The LAN hardware has been replaced courtesy of ComputerBank - the new machines may be more energy efficient, and the hardware is more reliable. Upgrading the machines to use Linux is a possibility. This report was unanimously accepted.

At this point in time, the electricity bill is $500. Deferred until the next meeting.

    Moved by Helen.
    Seconded by Ross.

  9. GENERAL BUSINESS
  10. ECN ports have been dropped from 12 ports to 8 ports. The current bill for this is $42, saving $21.

Member 'froggy' is happy with the connection as of this point in time.

There are no real technical concerns at this point in time. The only issue thus far involves taking a fan from the network router to reduce noise.

National APANA has approved the cancellation of Hunter APANA's fax line.

  11. NEXT MEETING
  12. To be held on Sunday 23 June.

  13. MEETING CLOSED: 4.50pm
