    • EQUIPMENT STATUS & FUNCTION, ADMIN TEAM REPORT

Chris reported that Cray's hard-drive had died on October 5 but due to frequent backups it was able to be able to be replaced with minimal loss of data.

The prolonged period offline and the switch to Internode was complicated by the lack of communication from SIS. This became apparent when the SIS link came up...the order they'd placed on our line had delayed our order submitted through Internode. However once that was sorted out the transition from SIS to Internode when smoothly with the changes to the routing configurations only taking an hour to fix.

Chris reported that he detected an MTU bug and implemented a temporary fix.

Kildall/Bombadil are now receiving news from Internode.

Chris is research the possibility of replacing Niggle with a Linux based router.
